Terms for using Convert My Docs
These terms explain how visitors may use Convert My Docs, what the tools are intended for, and what responsibilities users keep when converting documents online.
Acceptance of these terms
By using Convert My Docs, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with the terms, you should not use the website or its tools. The terms apply to the site, its OCR features, PDF tools, Word conversion tools, Image to PDF tool, CV Builder, blog articles, contact form, and related pages.
Convert My Docs is designed as a practical online document conversion platform. The tools are provided for general productivity, study, job search, business administration, and everyday document tasks. They are not a replacement for professional legal, financial, immigration, academic, medical, or compliance advice.
The site may change over time. New tools may be added, existing tools may be improved, and limitations may be updated as the platform grows. Continued use of the website after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Permitted use
You may use Convert My Docs to process files you own, control, or have permission to use. This includes using Image to Text for OCR, PDF to Text for extracting selectable PDF text, PDF to Word for creating DOCX files from extracted PDF text, Word to PDF for creating PDFs from DOCX files, Image to PDF for combining images, and CV Builder for preparing a professional CV.
You agree not to use the website for unlawful purposes, harmful activity, automated abuse, attempts to disrupt service, copyright infringement, privacy violations, harassment, fraud, or processing files that you do not have the right to use. You also agree not to attempt to bypass technical limits, interfere with advertising systems, manipulate analytics, or submit malicious files.
Tool limitations
OCR and image conversion
OCR accuracy depends on the quality of the source image. Blurry text, handwriting, unusual fonts, poor lighting, skewed pages, shadows, and low contrast can reduce accuracy. Image to Text is useful for extracting editable text, but you are responsible for reviewing the result before using it in school work, business records, applications, invoices, or any important document.
Image to PDF is intended to combine selected images into a PDF. The final PDF depends on the image quality, order, orientation, and file selection. Users should preview images, check order, and download the result only when it looks correct.
PDF and Word conversion
PDF conversion can be difficult because PDFs are fixed-layout files. PDF to Text works best with selectable text. PDF to Word is marked Beta because complex layouts, tables, images, columns, and scanned pages may not be perfectly preserved. Some PDF pages may need OCR before text can be extracted.
Word to PDF reads DOCX content and creates a PDF from the readable document structure. It supports paragraphs, headings, bullet lists, page breaks, and basic spacing. It may not reproduce every Word layout, table, embedded image, exact font, margin, or design element. Users should check every converted PDF before sending or submitting it.
CV Builder
The CV Builder helps users create a structured CV, but it does not guarantee interviews, job offers, employment, or acceptance by any employer. Users are responsible for ensuring that their CV is accurate, honest, appropriate for the role, and free from misleading claims. The AI-style summary helper is only a writing aid and should be edited by the user before download or submission.
User responsibility
You are responsible for the files you choose to process, the information you enter, the output you download, and how you use that output. You should keep original files until you have reviewed converted files and confirmed that the result is suitable for your purpose.
You are responsible for complying with any rules that apply to your documents. This may include school submission rules, workplace confidentiality rules, customer privacy requirements, copyright restrictions, government document rules, employer application requirements, or internal business policies.
You should not upload or process documents containing sensitive information unless you have decided that doing so is necessary and appropriate. If only part of a document is needed, remove unnecessary pages or crop the relevant section first.
Privacy and file handling
Convert My Docs is designed around browser-based processing where possible and temporary processing where needed. The platform does not provide permanent file hosting and is not intended to be used as document storage. More details are available in the Privacy Policy.
No account is required for the current tools. Some browser features, such as local CV saving, may store data on your device if you choose to use them. Browser storage is controlled by your browser and can be cleared by you.
The site may include Google AdSense, analytics, and other operational services. Advertising and analytics providers may process technical information according to their own policies. Ads are labeled as advertisements.
Availability, changes, and errors
Convert My Docs is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, hosting issues, browser compatibility problems, dependency updates, network problems, or unexpected errors. We aim to keep tools useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Tools may be changed, improved, removed, renamed, or limited without notice. Blog articles and help content may be updated as features improve. A tool may produce different results after updates because conversion logic, browser behavior, or third-party libraries can change.
If you notice a problem, use the Contact page and include the tool name, file type, browser, device, and what result you expected. Do not send sensitive files unless necessary.
No professional advice
Convert My Docs provides document productivity tools and educational content. Blog posts and tool descriptions are for general information. They are not legal, tax, accounting, employment, medical, immigration, academic, or professional advice. For important decisions, consult a qualified professional or the relevant institution.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Convert My Docs is not liable for losses caused by inaccurate OCR, formatting changes, document conversion errors, file misuse, user decisions, downtime, third-party services, advertising systems, analytics systems, or failure to review converted output.
Users should always check extracted text, converted PDFs, DOCX files, CV downloads, and any other output before relying on it. If a document is important, compare the converted output with the original file.
