Important limits for document conversion and OCR

Convert My Docs is built to save time, but every extracted or converted file should be reviewed before you rely on it.

General information only

Convert My Docs provides online document conversion tools and educational content for general productivity. The site can help with OCR, PDF text extraction, PDF to Word conversion, Word to PDF conversion, Image to PDF conversion, and CV creation. These tools are practical aids, not professional review services.

The information on the website, including blog articles and tool explanations, is provided for general guidance. It is not legal, financial, accounting, employment, immigration, academic, tax, medical, or professional advice. If a document affects rights, money, employment, studies, contracts, legal obligations, or compliance duties, you should ask a qualified professional or the relevant institution.

Document conversion is a technical process. The tool reads, extracts, rebuilds, or exports information based on the file you provide and the browser environment you use. Results can vary because files vary. A clean text document is easier to convert than a heavily designed, scanned, encrypted, damaged, or unusual file.

OCR accuracy disclaimer

The Image to Text tool uses OCR to read text from images. OCR can be extremely useful, but it is not perfect. It can confuse letters and numbers, miss faint text, misread unusual fonts, ignore handwriting, reorder text, or lose parts of a document when the source image is unclear.

OCR works best with printed text, good lighting, straight alignment, strong contrast, and enough resolution. Photos taken at an angle, folded receipts, low-quality screenshots, dark scans, watermarks, stamps, handwriting, or decorative text may produce inaccurate results. Users must check names, ID numbers, totals, dates, addresses, banking details, references, and any other important information before using the result.

PDF and Word conversion disclaimer

PDF to Text and PDF to Word

The PDF to Text tool extracts selectable text from PDFs. It works best when the PDF contains real text. A scanned PDF may look like a normal document while actually storing each page as an image. In that case, text extraction may produce little or no text, and OCR may be required.

The PDF to Word tool is marked Beta because PDF layout is difficult to rebuild as an editable Word document. The output focuses on extracted text. Complex tables, columns, images, charts, signatures, form fields, page designs, and exact formatting may not be preserved.

Word to PDF and Image to PDF

The Word to PDF tool converts readable DOCX content into a PDF. It supports basic document structure such as headings, paragraphs, bullet lists, spacing, and page breaks. It may not preserve every advanced Word feature, including tables, exact fonts, embedded images, text boxes, comments, tracked changes, headers, footers, or complex page layout.

The Image to PDF tool depends on the source images selected by the user. Users should preview image order and clarity before downloading the PDF. Convert My Docs cannot guarantee that an image is readable, complete, correctly oriented, or acceptable to a third party.

CV Builder disclaimer

The CV Builder helps users create a structured CV with templates and optional sections. It does not guarantee job interviews, employment, recruiter interest, employer acceptance, or application success. Users are responsible for making sure their CV is truthful, current, relevant, and appropriate for the role they are applying for.

Any generated summary or writing suggestion should be reviewed and edited by the user. Do not include false qualifications, incorrect work dates, misleading achievements, or references who have not agreed to be listed. Employers may verify information, and inaccurate CV content can harm an application.

Privacy and security disclaimer

Convert My Docs is designed around browser-based processing where possible and temporary processing where needed. However, users remain responsible for deciding which files are suitable for processing online. If a file contains highly sensitive information, consider whether conversion is necessary and whether the file can be reduced, cropped, redacted, or processed another way.

No website can guarantee that every user device, browser, network, extension, or third-party service is secure. Users should avoid public or untrusted devices for private documents, keep browsers updated, and be careful with browser extensions that may read page content.

When advertising or analytics are enabled, third-party providers such as Google may process technical information according to their own policies. Ads are labeled as advertisements and should not be treated as endorsements by Convert My Docs.

User review is required

Always review converted output before relying on it. Compare important results with the original file. Check spelling, names, page order, totals, dates, headings, bullet lists, and formatting. For work, school, legal, financial, or official use, do not submit the converted file until you are satisfied that it is accurate.

If a conversion does not look right, try improving the source file. Use a clearer image, crop unnecessary background, choose a PDF with selectable text, simplify a DOCX file, or manually edit the result. Document tools are there to save time, not to remove human judgment.
